just more rambling

Strawberries. Okay, these are my favorite fruit and we got some the other day. Can I say good? They're delicious all by themselves!  :)

The other day I got out one of my sister's puzzles and now I'm almost finished with it. Maybe I'll post a picture of it when I'm finished. But, just to let you know, there's a border piece missing.  I don't know how it could have gotten lost, but it did.

Food Network. Okay, let's just say that, along with my mom, sister, and brother, I watch way too much of Food Network. I guess our favorite shows would have to be Chopped, Dinner Impossible, and Chefs Vs. City, because those are the ones we record. But as of last night The Next Food Network Star is thrown into the mix and I know that's going to be a favorite also. Lindsay and I recorded and watched it last night. I got a feel for who I may want to win and quickly decided who I don't want to win. Oh, one of the people I really didn't want to win got eliminated last night, so yay! On to other things...

Klondike bars are really good. I had my first one ever a couple of weeks ago. So far my favorite is the cookies and cream bar. The perfect warm weather dessert. ;)

And last but not least "Mean", by Taylor Swift. This is on the radio all the time right now. At first I didn't really like it, but now I do. I like the music video, too. ;)

Okay, so in this post I covered food, fun, TV, more food, and music. I've got school to do, though, so have to be going now. Talk to y'all soon!

a few random things

So yes, we got back on the 15th, I just haven't posted yet. I didn't take very many pictures, but Lindsay took tons and said I could use the ones she took if I want to post any pictures from the trip. Which I probably will, just not today.

This week we're going to go see On Stranger Tides. Did you know that movie made $346,400,000 in three days?! Now that's what I call a blockbuster opening weekend! Considering the Pirates of the Caribbean movies are some of my favorites I am very excited about going to see it. :) Have you seen it yet?

Still on the On Stranger Tides subject. We got the soundtrack last weekend and I just loaded it onto my ipod. So far I like it. I always like Hans Zimmer music, though, so that's no surprise. ;) I'm not sure if I'll like all the remixes. We'll see. I may end up taking them off, but who knows, I may like them.

Lately most of the pictures I post are taken by my sister (who takes great pictures, by the way ;). The reasons being: she has a really nice camera and likes photography more than me, so it only makes since that she takes lots more pictures than me and that her pictures are a better quality. But the other day I was editing the pictures I took on the trip and I was like "Gees, editing takes a long time." I use to like it a lot, and still do, but I never realized how time consuming it can be. And usually I'd rather be doing something else. So that's why I haven't posted my pictures from the trip- I haven't edited them yet.

Okay, so this was kind of a jumbled up, makes no sense post, but I don't care. I had to post something. Sorry I've been such a horrible blogger lately. I'll try to do better, I promise! :) I have quite a few post ideas, it's just taking the time to get them posted that's the problem.

just a quick note to say...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've no excuse except I just haven't wanted to put one together. How lazy is that?! Anyway, I'm here now to let y'all know I'll be gone for a little longer. Me and my family are leaving on a trip to Louisiana bright and early tomorrow morning, so don't be expecting any posts from me next week.

This lucky boy gets to go with us. ;) But that also means Lindsay and I are faced with bathing and grooming him today. Nooooooooooooooooo! Okay, not really. We certainly don't look forward to it, but it's not that bad. ;) Pretty soon he'll be sporting that groomed and manicured look that he has in the picture, not the shaggy and messy one he has now. Yay! ;)

Okay, so I'll be "seeing" y'all in a little while!

haircut and photo shoot

Last week I got my hair cut back to my shoulders, so when I got home Lindsay and I decided it was a good time for a photo shoot. We had fun, but after what must have been 200 pictures I was like, "How many more are you going to take?!" ;) Anyway, here are a few of my favorites.

This is my "Aren't we done yet?" look. ;)

Hope everyone's had a good week and has a great weekend! :)

A couple of days ago...

We got a Wii. My brother has wanted one for a really long time, and his two year dream was finally fulfilled when Mom brought home his Wii the other day. ;)  He was ecstatic. So excited!

We got it set up last night and we've all had fun on it since. I myself especially like bowling. ;)

(We got a black one like that)

Fun stuff.

I'm Happy

Last night me and Lindsay decided what to get with our two $5 Amazon gift cards that we got with our Swagbucks. You know what we decided on? The Parent Trap cd. Not the one with the score on it, but the one with the vocal songs from the movie on it. ;) Yep. I guess you could call us weird, but we had a tiny $10 budget and this cd is really neat anyway.

And do you know what else we got?

This-

Remember those funny Six Flags commercials they used to do? That's what I always think of when I here this song.

I was so excited about this song. Don't ask me why. I guess because it's just so fun and upbeat. But I just love it! ;)

So, yes, I'm happy. :)

Today is my sister Lindsay's 18th birthday! Lindsay, you are now officially a grownup. That's weird. ;)

Birthday Recap

Last Thursday was a really fun day. It started out with donuts for breakfast, which was a surprise and real treat. I went crazy and got one chocolate with chocolate icing and sprinkles and two chocolate glazed ones. Gees!  After breakfast Mom went to the store and Josh and Lindsay wrapped my presents (that's when I did my Sweet Sixteen post).

After they got done we played Monkey Ball together. We played monkey bowling and monkey golf. It was tons of fun! ;)

After that we watched Toy Story 2. We hadn't seen it in years, so that was really fun, too.

Mom got me some roses while she was out. They're really pretty and smell so good!

Picture Time!!

For supper I picked hamburgers and French fries- my absolute favorite meal. Mom made it.  It was SO good! Thanks Mom! ;)

After supper Mom and Lindsay cleaned the kitchen while I fed the pets their supper. Then I opened presents. Some of the things I got are-

Books- Sherlock Holmes Volumes 1 and 2, Pearl Maiden, Lysbeth, Homer's Odyssey (about a cat), Dewey (about a cat), and Huck (about a dog)
Finding Neverland DVD and Master and Commander soundtrack
Pajamas. They're SO cute. They are purple and have sock monkeys on them. ;)
Picture frames. I really needed some to help decorate my room, and the ones I got are so pretty!

After opening presents we had cake. I got an ice cream cake. It was chocolate cake with chocolate icing and mint chocolate chip ice cream. *happy sigh* I just wish we had more. ;)

My birthday plates. C-U-T-E. :)

And that pretty much brings an end to my day. I had a geat one!

Movies I've Seen Lately

Josh has finally gotten me and Lindsay to watch some of his superhero movies with him. And you know what? I've actually liked the ones I've seen. Them being-

Iron Man 1 and 2-

I love Robert Downey Jr.'s hair in the Iron Man movies! He's had some pretty bad styles and this one is definitely my favorite.

Aren't they cute together?

Now I'm looking forward to Iron Man 3 in 2013! It's supposed to be the last of the Iron Man movies, so it'll be a trilogy. Too bad it has to be so far away. ;)

Me and Lindsay got the Iron Man soundtrack with our Swagbucks and it's really good! :)

Batman Begins-

I really liked this one. It was more of a serious movie, but it was good. The casting was great!

Christian Bale made a great Bruce Wayne/Batman

Cillian Murphy was a good Dr. Jonothan Crane/Scarecrow

And Katie Holmes was a good Rachel Dawes

The Dark Knight-

I liked this one a little better than the first. One thing I really didn't like was that they got someone else to play Rachel Dawes. I didn't like Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel very much.

The Joker was pretty weird, but I didn't think any weirder than other villains in movies. That doesn't change the fact that he was very strange, or,  "A freak!"

The motorcycle that came out of his car was pretty cool. :)

Looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises in 2012! Like Iron Man, this one is supposed to be a trilogy, too, so no more after the next.

We have The Dark Knight soundtrack also. I really like this one.

Happy Birthday, Josh!

Today is my brother Josh's eleventh birthday! I can't believe he's eleven now!

Josh, you are a great artist. You have to know more about superheroes than anyone else... ever. You're tons of fun, handsome, sweet, the only one who will ever play checkers with me, and funny. Thanks for being such a good brother. Thanks for being you.

Love from your sister,
Haley

Oreo Balls Recipe

Josh and I made these for the first time yesterday and they turned out delicious! They were fun, easy, and pretty when finished. :)

Oreo Balls-

1 package regular size Oreo cookies, crushed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 package white almond bark
1 package chocolate almond bark

What to do-

Using a blender or hand held mixer, mix Oreos and cream cheese together. Roll into walnut size balls. Chill for an hour. Melt approximately 3/4 package white almond bark. Stick a toothpick in an Oreo ball and dip it in melted white almond bark. Allow to harden on wax paper, which takes about 15 minutes. While waiting, melt about 1/4 package of chocolate almond bark. When Oreo balls are no longer sticky to the touch, decorate with drizzles of chocolate almond bark. Enjoy! :)

The Bourne Trilogy

Okay, so what do I say about these movies? I can't think of anything else but they are great, terrific, very action packed (which I absolutely love), really cool, and definitely some of my favorites!

A couple of nights ago Mom, Pop, and I were watchig the last one on TV. It was pretty dumb to watch it because, although I'd seen the last one four or five times, I'd never seen the first two, Mom had never seen any of them, and Pop had seen them all.  After five minutes of commercials (and they were still going strong) Pop suggested just putting the dvd's in. We put Bourne Identity in, and liked that one so much we went right ahead and put  Bourne Supremacy in.

We weren't able to watch Bourne Ultimatum last night, so we'll probably watch it tonight. I can't wait to watch it and know what's going on. ;)

Oh, and in case you're wondering, I am convinced he's the best fighter ever.

Who doesn't like a guy who can handle a gun?

I really liked Marie.

Do any of y'all know who this is? It's Karl Urban- aka Eomer in The Two Towers and The Return of the King. Josh figured that out. ;) He was bad in these, though. :( You can pretty much figure that out by looking at the picture. He looks mean there.

I really liked the music in these, too. It went perfectly with the movies. John Powell did a great job! I want the soundtracks.

Have you seen them? If so, did you like them as much as I did?
