~ My Ten Things ~

My sister Lindsay and Caleb tagged me! This tag seems to be very popular lately and looks fun!

Here are the directions:

1. Say thanks and link to the person who gave you the award. (Thank you, Lindsay and Caleb!) :)

2. Share ten "honest" things about yourself.

3. Award this to seven people who's blog design/content you admire or who have encouraged you, and inform them of their win and of the rules of this award.

~

1. I do not like coffee. No, I've never actually tried it, but it doesn't smell very good.

2. I usually prefer cooking or baking alone than with other people.

3. I've gotten very behind in blogging lately. Yes, there are so many posts I didn't read this week and, well, I haven't posted, so... Yeah, I'm behind!

4. I've been busy freezing apples and peaches and making peach preserves. Yes, and it's a lot of fun! :) This is my first year to actually do anything like that, but I like that kind of stuff and no one else in the family does so I've been busy in the kitchen!

5. I love picking up cats and smaller dogs! Neither of our cats like it though, and if I'm not careful I'll receive a nip or scratch! Yikes!! The funny part is that our dog doesn't mind it one bit! Yes, there's something wrong with this picture.

6. I go and play outside with my brother almost every day. He appreciates it and we have tons of fun together! :)

7. I like to play them, but will not watch sports. It just seems like such a waste of time, especially if your team loses.

8. I am going to learn Spanish this school year. I am excited about it and can't wait to start!

9. I use to be a very messy person, but not anymore!!

10. My two favorite Christian music artists are Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith.

~

Okay, that's ten! And, just so you know, it took me a long time to think of all those!

I am going to have to break the last rule because everyone I know has already done the tag! But, if anyone sees this and wants to do it, feel free!

Cinnamon Apple Bread

2 sticks melted butter
1/4 cup milk
3 eggs
1 and 1/4 cup sugar
1tsp. vanilla extract

3 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3 1/2 cups peeled and diced apples

Topping:
1/3 cup melted butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Mix well the butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the milk and vanilla. Mix together the flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon. Stir into the butter mixture. Fold in apples and pecans. Bake in two well greased loaf pans at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Do not remove from oven but sprinkle the combined topping on both loaves. Bake for another 25-35 minutes. Makes two loaves.

We have an apple tree in our new backyard and it's loaded down with apples, so I thought I'd use a few of them for some apple bread. After looking around awhile I found this recipe. It sounded really good and decided to try it. Well, it was a big hit with everyone and is definitely a keeper! I thought it tasted like apple pie! Yeah, kind of weird for bread, but hey, I didn't mind! :)

Just thought I'd share the recipe with y'all! Hope everyone's having a wonderful and blessed week!

For Him,

We're Moved In!

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to post a little something to let y'all know how the move went. Well, it went as smoothly as possible and we're now just busy with all the unpacking. There were boxes everywhere at first but, bit by bit, we're finding a place for everything and the boxes are disappearing. I think that we've made good progress this past week and am just glad that this time we came here to stay and don't have to leave again!

Well, it's getting late and I have lots of things to do still, so "see" y'all later!

Good Night,

A Moving Update

I am sorry for the lack of posts lately, but things have been pretty crazy around here lately and posting has moved down the priority list. So, since I am finally back on I will tell everyone what's been keeping me so busy. That thing is packing the house up. The past few months we'd spent cleaning out closets and getting rid of many, many things, so we didn't have to start there, we could just go in and pack everything we saw. That was definitely nice and, if we hadn't already done all that I don't think we could have packed in a week, which is what we are doing.

So, with almost everything packed up and the moving truck scheduled to come tomorrow afternoon, I think everything is going as well as could be expected. Sorry, but I now need to go help pack the rest of things up!
