Archery Fun!

As y'all probably already know I have many interests and it turns out that archery is one if them! It has been awhile since I practiced, so I decided to go out and shoot some today. My brother, who actually owns the bow and arrows, came out with me also. We had a lot of fun together and managed to lose one arrow. (I think it went under the fence, oops!)

I wasn't doing very well at first, but after awhile I got the hang of it again and could shoot from one end of the yard to the other end and, usually, hit the target! That was, of course, an accomplishment.

Y'all are probably wondering what I was shooting at! Well, it was a beaten up box that Pop let us use. We thought that it was the perfect target and put a lot of holes in it!

Once out there, you lose track of time and when I came in I found out that I had been outside for two and a half hours! Yeah, it's that fun! But my hands could tell that I had been out for that long and are now are paying the price with a few blisters. Oh well, it was fun, and it's a good way to spend time with my little brother. I think he enjoys it almost as much as I do! :)

Anyway, now you know that I like archery. I hope that everyone has a blessed Sunday!

My First Knitting Class!

I have wanted to learn how to knit for a long time now (I even attempted to teach myself a couple of times but didn't get very far :) so last Saturday I went to my first official knitting class! Yay! I had a lot of fun!

It was a two and a half hour class so I was able to learn a lot. I learned how to cast on, how to do the knit stitch, and how to do the purl stitch. Everything looks so hard, but really it's quite simple when broken down into steps.

Knitting is such a useful thing to know how to do. You can : make presents instead of buying them, teach classes, start your own business, etc... When I am older and am an experienced knitter I hope to teach classes. Also my sister (who sews) and I have talked about how we could start an online business together. I knit things to sell and she sews things to sell. That would be fun. :)

I am so glad to have finally found a knitting teacher and am also glad that I like doing it! :)

Have a blessed week everyone,

The Lord of The Rings

Last week I watched The Lord of The Rings movies for the first time. I didn't expect to like them very much, but was pleasantly surprised! (I like to be pleasantly surprised. Who doesn't? :) They were very good and I enjoyed them a lot. My favorite was either the first or the third one, but probably the third.

One thing that made an impression on me the most was how loyal everyone was to each other and what strong friendships they had. For instance, Sam and Frodo, Merry and Pippin, and Gimli and Legolas. These are only a few of many strong friendships that I noticed. They stood by each other through thick and thin and always seemed to be there for one another. It was the perfect picture of what friendship really is.

The movies were filled with danger, excitement, and hope. Each one left me in suspense until, at last, I had watched them all and couldn't believe how good they were and how much I liked them!

After watching the movies I started the books. I read "The Hobbit" in almost two days and am now well into "The Fellowship of The Ring". I won't be reading it as fast as I did The Hobbit though because it's nearly four hundred pages! Yeah, a pretty thick book. :) I am enjoying the books just as much as I did the movies.

Anyway, The Lord of The Rings is a great series. They are now my favorite movies and, so far, books also. If you have seen the movies and/or read the books what did you think of them? I would love to know!

For Him,

A Really Easy Cake

This is one of my favorite cake recipes. It's really easy to make and is quite delicious!

Panic Cake

2 cans of pie filling

1 box of yellow cake mix

2 sticks of melted butter

1/2 cup of chopped pecans ( optional* )

Grease 9x13 pyrex. Spread pie filling in pan. Pour dry cake mix over filling. Pour melted butter and nuts over cake mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Enjoy! :) *We don't put nuts in.

I hope that you like it!
