Why We're Still Home...

I know, I know, we are supposed to be gone right now visiting relatives. Well...were not. Let me explain.

Sunday afternoon Pop went outside to put air in the tires of our van for the trip, but when he got to one of the tires he noticed it didn't have nearly as much air in it as the others. He guessed it was a slow leak and filled that tire with air just like the others. So he told us that he'd have to check it in the morning and see if it had lost any air and if it hadn't then we would decide whether or not we should go.

We made it a point Sunday night during our family devotions to pray and ask God to make it clear whether or not it was His will for us to go. Well he certainly did make it clear. Yesterday morning when Pop went and checked the tire he saw that the tire had lost some air, but not only that, another one had too. With that we deemed it wasn't His will for us to go, and we certainly didn't want to risk getting stuck on the side of the interstate with a couple of flat tires.

We would just go get some new tires (they all actually need to be replaced), but we don't think it would be wise to spend so much money on a van we don't plan on keeping much longer. I like our van, but it's old and has it's, shall I say, problems. Mostly just some minor things that are annoying.

It's not like we can't use the van at all right now, we can use it for errands and stuff like that, but just don't want to take it on such a long trip with leaky tires.

So that is why we are still at home. I thought that it was wonderful how God let us know and how he made it so clear that we should not go. We were, of course, disappointed, but we trust that he has his reasons.

For Him,

I know that how disappointing it can be, but praise God for the clear answer that He gave you! And way to be optomistic:)

Blessings to you, and have a great 4th of July!

Aww, I am sorry you didn't get to go...those things happen sometimes. =:( At least you can still go later though! =;) yeah, I understand about the van thing. We have had our troubles with vans too! =:) I like the one we have now though, It's keeping in shape very nicely! =:D It's amazing how the Lord works isn't it? At least you didn't find out on the highway somewhere while you were on your way! That is a blessing!

Blessings and Hugs!
