A Trip to The Dentist and Picture of The Sunrise

Earlier me and my brother went to the dentist. It's funny, no matter how well you brush, you're always worried about having cavities. I was a little worried and really glad to hear I don't have any! Yay! :D Josh was so grossed out by the flouride! It was a different kind than usual, and pretty gross, but he was really funny about it. ;)

Here's a picture of yesterday's sunrise. Can you tell I like to take pictures of sunrises? ;) It's a lot of fun, because they're different everyday.

A Few Pictures and Stuff

Hmm... not too much has been going on this week. We've been deciding what books we want to do for our next year of school and getting things ordered. I'm really excited about starting back! :)

Yesterday Mom and I went grocery shopping. It was one of those really long trips where you go three different places and are gone for three hours. My worst part of grocery shopping is after you've done the shopping part and you have to bring all the bags inside. I prefer the shopping part. ;)

We're having one of Pop's friends from work over for supper later. She actually use to work with Pop before we moved and got laid off the same time he did. Now she found a job up here. I've never met her before, but she sounds nice!

Okay, now I'll leave you with a few pictures! :)

This morning's sunrise...

Josh being crazy with his Otter Pop ;)

Isn't he cute?

And him, too. :)

Cappuccino Muffins

Last night my siblings asked me to make some of these muffins (they shouldn't be called muffins at all, they should be called cupcakes ;). They had the taste for some, and so did I, so I made some this morning and decided to share the recipe. :)

Cappuccino Muffins

2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. baking cocoa
1 c. milk
2 Tbsp. instant coffee granules
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. mini chocolate chips

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Combine first five ingredients in a large bowl. Set aside. Mix together milk, coffee, and egg; stir into flour mixture. Stir in butter and vanilla; mix well. Stir in choc. chips. Spoon batter into paper lined or greased muffin cups, filling 2/3 way full. Bake at 375 degrees for 17-20 minutes; until a toothipck tests clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes; transfer to a wire rack and finish cooling. Makes one dozen. Enjoy! :)

And yes, those are Christmas muffin liners. Hey, we didn't have any others! ;)

Have a great week!

Can You Guess Any of Them? ;)

Rules:
1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies and TV shows.
2. Go to
IMDB.com and find a quote from each movie/show.
3. Post them for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
NO cheating, if you don't know any of them then that's just too bad.

~ ~ ~

#1- Character 1: I'm like a fine wine. I need about 35 years to reach perfection.

#2- Character 1: For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everybody would know where it was.

#3- Character 1: That scepter's made of wood.
Character 2: Yes, well, we do dream on a budget here, don't we?

#4- Character 1: I don't want to posses you! I wish to marry you because I love you!
Character 2: You shouldn't! Because I do not like you, and never have.

#5- Character 1: Are we lost?
Character 2: No.
Character 1: I think we are.

#6- Character 1: Think of it as a train behind you. Forty feet of train.

#7- Character 1: Yes, Myles, if you're right, you can say I told you so. And I know you will in that special way that makes us all love you so.

#8- Character 1: I can babysit, or whatever it is you do with an eight year old.
Character 2: Gary, you don't even like kids.

#10- Character 1: I want the names to be Unique and Euphonious.
Character 2: Okay. Unique if it's a boy and Euphonious if it's a girl.

Toy Story 3...

Yesterday we went to see Toy Story 3. We weren't planning on seeing it in 3D, but it turns out that's the only way the theater we went to showed it. We were all very excited, because it was the first movie we've seen like that. :)

After watching about twenty minutes of dumb advertisements, we were finally able to put on the geeky glasses and watch the movie. I liked it! It was definitely a good, cute, and funny movie, but I still like the other two better. Well, I like the first one best, then the second, then the third. ;)

Ken and Barbie were really funny...

But Woody remains my favorite... :)

Happy Fourth!

The Star Spangled Banner
Lyrics By Francis Scott Key 1814

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

History: In 1814, about a week after the city of Washington had been badly burned, British troops moved up to the primary port at Baltimore Harbor in Maryland. Francis Scott Key visited the British fleet in the Harbor on September 13th to secure the release of Dr. William Beanes who had been captured during the Washington raid. The two were detained on the ship so as not to warn the Americans while the Royal Navy attempted to bombard Fort McHenry. At dawn on the 14th, Key noted that the huge American flag, which now hangs in the Smithsonian's American History Museum, was still waving and had not been removed in defeat. The sight inspired him to write a poem titled Defense of Fort McHenry. The poem was eventually set to music that had originally been written by English composer John Stafford Smith for a song titled "The Anacreontic Song". The end result was the inspiring song now considered the national anthem of the United States of America. It was accepted as such by public demand for the next century or so, but became even more accepted as the national anthem during the World Series of Baseball in 1917 when it was sung in honor of the brave armed forces fighting in the Great War. The World Series performance moved everyone in attendance, and after that it was repeated for every game. Finally, on March 3, 1931, the American Congress proclaimed it as the national anthem, 116 years after it was first written.

Happy fourth of July everyone!

Mad as a Hatter

Last night me and my siblings watched Alice In Wonderland. I was excited to see it, but didn't think I would like it nearly as much as I did. Yes, it was a little strange, but I enjoyed watching something different, you know? On a scale of 1-10 I would give it an 8.

My favorite character was the Mad Hatter. ;)

But I liked Alice a lot too...

It was definitely a good movie! :)
